Installing PageStream
Just started this new section, so don't get too worried about the content. The readme files still contain the information you need, but that information will be condensed to here as time permits.
To install PageStream for Windows, copy the contents of the archive into a folder of your choice and run the PageStream executable. It is recommended that this installation not be installed over an existing copy of PageStream because this release is not compatible with older releases. To run PageStream for Windows, simply double click on the PageStream5.exe file inside the installed folder. Drag the PageStream5.exe to your desktop or start menu to create an easy access shortcut to the program.
To use external scripts, you must install Python for Windows. You can download and install this from http://www.python.org/download/. For the time being it is recommended you download and install a 2.x version, and not a 3.x version, of Python.

If there seems to be something wrong with PageStream (not responding, doesn't allow to open a document let alone opening a new document, etc), the best thing to do is delete PageStream5.ini or PageStream5.prefs (or rename it), depending on your OS (Operating System). Before running PGS again, you should delete PageStream5.ini. Now run PGS again. You don't have to install PGS as new , just running it will cause (now) a new PageStream5.ini. Afterwards, when PageStream is behaving again, you could copy parts of the old PageStream5.ini (or .prefs). | |
