Applying Object Attributes with the Eyedropper Tool


The ''Eyedropper'' tool picks up attributes from one object and pastes them on another. You can paste the copied attributes as many times as you want, and you can pick up new attributes at any time.

1. Choose the ''Eyedropper'' tool from the ''Toolbox''.

The mouse pointer will change to an empty eyedropper shape.

2. Copy the object attributes.

Click on the object whose attributes you want to pick up. The mouse pointer will change to a full eyedropper shape.

If you click on a text frame or text block, you will pick up the text attributes, not the object attributes.

3. Paste the object attributes.

Click on another object. All of the attributes will be applied to this object.

4. Continue as desired.

Continue clicking on objects to paste the same attributes. To copy different attributes, hold down Option (Alt or Shift) and click on another object. When Option (Alt or Shift) is held down, the mouse pointer will change to an empty eyedropper shape.
